Experience a glorious day's skiing from the Eigenthal valley to the Fräkmüntegg and Krienseregg, two popular destinations on the Pilatus.
This round trip is not an everyday ski tour, as the skins are used twice in quick succession: following a rapid descent from the Fräkmüntegg, you're ready for the next ascent.

Directions
Rundweg:

This ski tour starts at the Gantersei car park. Follow the road and head for Unterlauelen alp. At the last junction before the alp restaurant, turn left (follow the signs). You cross the field and soon reach the Ober Lauelen vantage point. You now climb through the forest up to the Lauelenegg (alt. 1442 m). Traverse along the summer footpath to the Fräkmüntegg (at alt. 1469 m the highest point of the tour). Skins off. Ski along the ridge to the gondola terminus. From there you first ski along the road to the Mülimäs and then on the sledge run (take care of users) to the Naturfreundehaus. Shortly after the building, turn left onto the road. The next 500 metres or so present you with a handful of metres of elevation gain. Now follow the road straight ahead past the Cholgruebe to the bridge at Dorschnei, where the next ascent begins. Follow the summer footpath through the forest up to P.1040 at the edge of the forest. You climb the last few metres over the field to the Chräigütsch. The last part of the descent follows the summer footpath then the road back to Gantersei car park.

Alternative:

If you don't have to return to the Gantersei car park, you could ski down to the Holderchäppeli PostBus stop provided there's enough snow.
