With a little luck you will catch sight of an alpine ibex

There is much to delight connoisseurs and hikers on the Brienzer Rothorn, highest peak in the canton of Lucerne. The incredible panoramic sight of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (plus up to 690 other peaks) is simply astonishing. A cable car from Sörenberg transports visitors up this wonderfully scenic mountain in 10 minutes, while Switzerland’s only rack-and-pinion railway with steam locomotives runs from Brienz to the summit every day. The mountain stations and the viewing platform are both a short, easy walk away.
