In the energy sector, the region relies on environmentally friendly, renewable energies, particularly hydropower, wood energy, and solar energy. Sustainability plays a key role – from promoting a decentralised energy supply to supporting projects that reduce the region's ecological footprint. By using regional energy sources and innovative technologies, the protection of natural resources is strengthened while improving the local population's quality of life as well.
