The more demanding e-bike route with fascinating views and delicious enjoyment stops.

The Schrattenfluh from all sides - what a sight. The challenging route offers a few tough sections which can be bypassed. You are rewarded in between with fine enjoyment stops so you have enough power for the whole distance. The route starts in Sörenberg and first leads you through the beautiful flat moor area Junkholz/Gloggenmatt before the first climb towards Hilferepass awaits you in Flühli. From the pass, you continue towards Dorbach. From here, some steeper sections follow which you can bypass - see "Safety instructions". On this section up to Alp Imbrig, you have a fantastic view of the rugged rocks of the Schrattenfluh - a rather unusual but super beautiful view of this mountain. Perfect to enjoy your Znüni to go. Shortly after "Unter Lochsite", you cross the border to the Canton of Bern and head towards Bumbach. From here it is not far to the legendary Kemmeriboden-Bad. Here you are rewarded with another enjoyment stop and can meanwhile charge your e-bike. Because you need real power again for the last climb (respectively your e-bike). After the rest, it goes up via Chüblisbüel and Schneeberg towards Salwideli. And now a short piece down to Hotel Rischli, where the last enjoyment stop awaits you with a sweet finale.

Equipment

Good equipment including rain and warmth protection and helmet wearing is of course essential. Repair and first aid kits are always with you. Your bike is roadworthy and you have lights for dusk. E-bikes require daytime running lights on all public traffic areas.

WARNING: A spare battery is highly recommended for this route as a battery probably will not last the entire tour. At the Kemmeriboden-Bad country inn, you have the possibility to charge your e-bike. But be sure to bring your charger.

Between Hilferepass and Imbrig, you will repeatedly find rest benches with spectacular views to enjoy your Znüni to go.

Safety guidelines

Notes:

  • Birkenhof-Junkholz approx. 150 m (push passage)
  • Don't miss the Hilferehüttli turnoff (adjust your speed when descending)
  • Steep passage between Steiwang and Imbrig
Alternative route: From "Dorbach" there are some steeper passages. Here you have the possibility to choose an easier section and ride down the road to the main road towards Marbach. On the bike path, continue to Schangnau and return to the actual route at "Hinter Leu".

Wear the right protective equipment, assess your skills correctly, give way to hikers, stay on the trail, and close fences! Orient yourself by the Bike Code Central Switzerland - so you remain a welcome sight on your mountain bike!
