The third stage of the Moorland Landscape Path definitely has it all. Several ups and downs sweeten your day, requiring some leg work. You will be rewarded with fantastic views and a large number of moors. The Entlen moorland, largely drained by the Kleine Entlen, features many small-scale forms. Noteworthy are the extensive flat moors used as meadows. The original farming is still present. The rural architecture also shows many forms: year-round operation with house and barn is represented as well as the simplest alpine stable.
At the start, the first climb awaits, so don't forget the muesli at breakfast. Along the Schwendelifluh you march towards Baumgarte and Finishütte up to First. There you will also find a mountaintop restaurant. You have definitely earned a lunch or something to drink here. On nice weather, enjoy the fantastic panoramic view from the terrace. On one side over Entlebuch towards Napf and the Central Plateau. On the other side, the Entlebuch peaks rise high: Risete, Schimbrig, Äbnistette, Schafmatt and Schwendelifluh offer a fantastic skyline. After the break, you hike downhill towards Schwarzenbergchrüz, shortly thereafter begins the next ascent. Via Neuhütte you head to Schimbrigbad. Here you might smell a somewhat special odor. This is the sulfur spring. Dare to take a sip of the healing spring water. You skip the steep ascent to Schimbrig this time and hike gently downhill via Stilaub to your stage destination Gfellen.
