- Start: Marbachegg
- Destination: Marbachegg
The winter hike to Gassenegg starts at the sun-drenched Marbachegg. The first elevation meters you cover most easily with the Bretzeli-Bahn from the idyllic village of Marbach. Once at the top, the incredible view of Schiebengütsch and Hohgant enchants you first, in between tower the Bernese Alps. The winter hike leads through the neat holiday homes on Marbachegg. Look up to the sky above you from time to time, because Marbachegg is a mecca for paragliders and hang gliders. Even in winter, they can be seen in dozens on beautiful days with ideal conditions in the sky above Marbachegg. Where the skiers then turn right into the valley run to Marbach, you continue straight past the holiday camp house. At Gassenegg, some rest benches await you for a short break. Enjoy wonderful views of the surrounding mountain world before hiking back to the mountain inn and mountain station.
Special rates for pedestrians
During the entire winter season, pedestrians travel for only 11 francs to Marbachegg and back. More information.

Safety guidelines
Please observe the following points on the winter hiking trails:
- Stay on the marked routes
- Allow enough time and watch the weather
- Behave quietly, so there is even the chance to see wildlife; observe the animals from a respectful distance
- Your dogs are also allowed to do winter sports with us but must be kept on a leash
- Take your rubbish home with your lovely memories.
If outdoor enthusiasts respect the space of the wildlife, fewer bans and restrictions are needed and the natural landscape remains open for real nature experiences. We ask for careful consideration and thank you for it!
