The winter hike starts in the power village of Heiligkreuz and first leads past the ski lift and residential area before heading uphill in open terrain to Reistegg. The path then becomes a little narrower, but the views of the pilgrimage site of Heiligkreuz, the Napf and the Jura mountain range are all the greater. Once you have crossed the ski lift, it is only a few meters to the sun-drenched First mountain restaurant, where you have earned a break. Here you have a view of the Entlebuch mountains with Risete, Schimbrig, Äbnistettenfluh, Schafmatt and Schwändelifluh.
After a delicious lunch, dessert or a Kafi schnapps on the cozy sun terrace, you now descend the sunny mountain slope towards Kleine First. You follow the edge of the ski slope, the path of the Wurzilla fairytale trail and finally return to the power place Heiligkreuz and the starting point of the winter hike. A visit to the pilgrimage church is well worthwhile!

The UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch is located in the heart of Switzerland, centrally between Bern and Lucerne. You can reach Heiligkreuz via the main road 10 from Hasle or Schüpfheim.

You can reach Heiligkreuz by public transport via Schüpfheim (Bern-Lucerne railroad line). From Schüpfheim, take the Postbus to Heiligkreuz.

A stop at the First mountain restaurant is almost a must - you simply have to enjoy the fantastic panoramic view.
Safety guidelines
We ask you to observe the following points on the winter hiking trails:
- Stay on the marked routes
- Allow sufficient time and monitor the weather
- Behave quietly, so there is even the possibility of seeing wild animals; observe the animals from an appropriate distance
- Your dogs are also allowed to do winter sports with us, but must be kept on a lead
- Take your garbage home with you along with your wonderful memories.
If nature sports enthusiasts respect the space of wild animals, fewer bans and restrictions are needed and the natural landscape remains open for genuine nature experiences. We ask for your careful consideration and thank you for it!
