The winter hike leads from Sörenberg Plaza up to the rustic Alphütte Schwand. Until 2005, cows were kept and cheese was produced in the Alpine building Schwand. Now the view of the Brienzer Rothorn, the Hagleren, and the Schrattenfluh enchants winter sports enthusiasts. After a break on the cozy sunny terrace, the trail continues to Rossweid at 1464 m above sea level and enchants with a magnificent view of the ski area and the surrounding snowy landscape.
From Rossweid you can either take the gondola back to Sörenberg or hike back to the village via Salwideli, about 2.5 hours walking time.

Safety guidelines
Please observe the following points on the winter hiking trails:
- Stay on the marked routes
- If possible, avoid the cross-country ski trail. If that is not possible, walk in single file and do not step in the tracks.
- Plan enough time and monitor the weather
- Behave quietly, so there is even a chance to see wildlife; observe the animals from a respectful distance
- Your dogs are also allowed to do winter sports with us, but must be kept on a leash
- Take your trash home with your beautiful memories.
If nature sports enthusiasts respect the space of wild animals, fewer bans and restrictions are needed and the natural landscape remains open for genuine nature experiences. We ask for careful consideration and thank you!
