The cable car ride from the valley up to the Brienzer Rothorn at 2350 metres above sea level is spectacular in itself. The view sweeps northwards over the Waldemmental, and on a clear day over the Napf and the lake landscape behind it as far as the Black Forest region. And to the rear, the turquoise-blue Lake Brienz and the snow-covered Bernese Alps with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and a further 690 peaks are simply breathtaking.
