  • Destination: Rossweid Mountain Station

On the Rossweid-Schwarzenegg winter hiking circular route, five staged photo stations each await you with an exciting theme related to photography.

The starting point of the hike is the Rossweid valley station. If you don't have a ticket yet, you can get the pedestrian ticket and of course the photo kit here. While the cable car comfortably carries you up the mountain, you can closely inspect the photo kit gadgets and study the booklet. There is a gadget for each of the five photo stations to boost creativity on the photo trail. The booklet also contains challenging challenges and practical tips for each photo station.

And then it's off on the photo trail through the enchanting winter landscape. The approximately one-hour circular hike leads from Rossweid through beautifully snow-covered moorlands and past gnarled mountain pines to Schwarzenegg. From there, it goes back to Rossweid on a direct, slightly downhill path.

Now creativity is called for! You dive into the world of reflection, colors, focus, framing, and depth effect. A highlight along the way is, for example, the oversized photo frame with the snow-dusted Schrattenfluh as a motif. After the last station, with the camera or mobile phone full of photos and your mind filled with new knowledge, you reach the Schwarzenegg ski hut. A stop on the sunny terrace is worthwhile here before tackling the last section back to Rossweid mountain station.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Inspire and be inspired, that is the motto. Each photo station has its own hashtag with which you can share your photos. Share your top shots of the day with #FototrailSörenberg. If you search for these hashtags, you can see how other participants of the photo trail mastered the challenges.

Safety guidelines

Please observe the following points on the winter hiking trails:

  • Stay on the marked routes
  • If possible, avoid the cross-country ski trail. If this is not possible, walk one behind the other and do not step into the tracks.
  • Plan enough time and monitor the weather
  • Keep quiet; there is even the possibility of seeing wildlife; observe animals from a respectful distance
  • If you bring your dog, it must be on a leash
  • Regarding waste: Take it home with the fond memories and leave only your tracks

If outdoor sports enthusiasts respect the space of wild animals, fewer prohibitions and restrictions are needed and the natural landscape remains open for genuine nature experiences. We ask you to be considerate and thank you for it!
