- Start: Marbachegg
- Destination: Marbachegg
The trail starts at Marbachegg, comfortably reachable in ten minutes by gondola from Marbach. From the mountain station, the route leads past some charming holiday homes to the Gassenegg. Where marmots freely play in the summer, there is now in winter an almost eerie silence.
The descent begins past the reservoir lake and to the Lochsitili, the lowest point of the tour. From here it goes upwards again, passing the Wittenfärren farm on silent feet. Soon you reach the Kreuzegg viewpoint, rewarded with a beautiful view: the unusual face of the Schrattenfluh with the steep (snowy) slopes. The Bernese Alps rising high can also be admired from Kreuzegg.
Return again passes the farm, the reservoir lake, and to the Marbachegg mountain station. The tour can be shortened by not turning right at the junction after the reservoir lake but walking directly to Kreuzegg. Either way: back at Marbachegg awaits the inviting sun terrace of the mountain inn.
Special fares for pedestrians

Safety guidelines
Please observe the following points on the winter hiking trails:
- Stay on the marked trails
- Plan enough time and monitor the weather
- Behave quietly, so there is even the possibility to see wildlife; observe animals from a respectful distance
- Your dogs are also allowed to do winter sports with us, but must be kept on a leash
- Take your rubbish home with your beautiful memories.
If nature sports enthusiasts respect the space of wild animals, fewer bans and restrictions are needed and the natural landscape remains open for genuine nature experiences. We ask you to be considerate and thank you for it!
